I have worked in Australia's film and television industry for over 25 years.
I was a Colourist for over 10 years at Melbourne’s Cinevex Laboratories before being promoted to Post-Production Manager & then General Manager.
Throughout my time at Cinevex I dedicated myself to evolving both the talent & technology ensuring the company always provided world-class services & solutions. I am motivated by the development of digital technology over traditional film and relish working closely with film makers to ensure the creative integrity of each & every project.
In 2009 Cinevex relaunched as Deluxe Melbourne & we continued to advance the facility's digital post-capabilities. Most recently I managed the integration of Deluxe Melbourne with another long standing film & television post-production house, Digital Pictures. Now branded DDP Studios I lead a team of 30 talented Colourists, Digital Technologists, VFX & Online Artists & Post-Producers in Melbourne's largest & best post production facility.
I was a founding member of the Screen Services Association of Victoria in 2001 and have also sat on the Melbourne Film Office Advisory Board
With 30 years experience starting in Camera Equipment Rentals and then working Freelance in Feature, Television & TVCs. I am fortunate enough to work with Incredible Local & International Creative Talent who expect World Class Service. By continually Researching And Improving Skills, Investing in Specialist Tech & Support Gear, I am alway looking for ways to keep that standard. I’ve played a role on most of the large scale production shot in Melbourne since before Docklands Studios Opened. Through these projects & others, I am continually employing and training new people with our specialist skillset that currently you can only really learn “on the job”. The Hub gives us that space for all sectors of our industry, not just to store our fleet & equipment, but to expand our capabilities, continually innovate and create a qualified workforce that can match it with the Best.
I have worked solely in the screen industry since I was a teenager, for over 30 years. In that time I have given my life to, and gained experience through countless local and international productions. I have owned and managed our own business for over 10 years, in that time building and designing specialised, industry focused vehicles and equipment worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and have been consistently focused on offering world class service and equipment to both local and international productions. To create a Victorian screen hub is essential for the growth of the industry in our state and to be able to provide international productions with not only world class equipment, but the service that is required to house the larger productions we are hoping to entice here with the building of a new sound stage at Docklands. A Victorian screen hub could also provide the local industry with a means to be able to provide a solid training environment and retain quality industry professionals, along with giving a centralised home to numerous businesses that will support the growth and innovation of the industry. Victoria would benefit existentially from providing a centralised professional support hub for productions looking at shooting in our state.
With decades of industry experience. The Prop Collective, owned and run by Liv and Ash, is a prop-sourcing & set-dressing one-stop-online-shop that enables creatives from the artistic & commercial industries to find & access the items they need for their projects. We supply a selection of current day & period hand props & dressings, graphics to order, a growing selection of cleared artwork for hire, project stylings & styling consultations for fIlm, television, TV commercials & print media. With a valuable curated collection & countless hours invested in expanding our business the forthcoming eviction would threaten it’s viability going forward. Keeping our small support industries together will be hugely beneficial to facilitate the type of international jobs we hope to see at Docklands Studios.

I have been a Location Manager for 20 years, which has seen me film all across Victoria and interstate. I’ve shot dairy farms, deserts, big homes, bedsits, city rooftops and underground gold mines on local and international feature films and television series. I have been fortunate to have made career out of a line of work I fell into, but I could not have done that without the extraordinary creative people in the industry who helped guide me as I started out and who continue to inspire me to this day. The establishment of the Melbourne Screen Hub will mean much more than a logistics facility – as important as that is – it will provide opportunity for industry led, on the job mentoring which is so vital in this industry.
I have worked in the screen industry for 35 years, over 20 of which as a Supervisor. As a side business I hire costumes & dept set up equipment to productions in Victoria, to the value of $75,000. My business partner & I currently rent a workroom for $2000 PCM, and we would be extremely excited to bring and expand the business over to the Melbourne Screen Hub, with the view to bringing a much needed Costume Hire House to Victoria. By doing so we would be able to supply productions with costumes that Costume Designers currently travel Interstate/OverSeas to source. Having a Base here also gives us a permanent training facility for up and coming Costume Personnal.
Adam Hunter from Two Suns Lighting has 27 years of experience working on Australian and International films, tvc’s and television series. Two Suns Lighting has invested close to $1 million in trucks, vans, generators and specialised equipment that service productions across Victoria and Australia. "It is imperative to have a central facility to accommodate and support the livelihood of the Victorian film industry.
I've been in the film/ tv industry for 25 year. I've invested heavily in the Industry and have a flotilla of vehicles to cater for every possible cinematic project. To date equipment expenditure is well over 1.8million dollars. I feel it is time for the Industry to get some assistance for the grass roots people. I employ up to 50 different people through the calendar year. To stay ahead of the curve and to facilitate this amazing and evolving studio complex. We need to find a home that compliments our industry and to augment the DSM complex. Putting Victoria's film and tv industry in a position to grow, learn, and educate, future screen artists and technicians.
I am a Gaffer and have been in the film industry for over 20 years. I have invested heavily in my business and have approx $1 million dollars worth of equipment inside my trucks located at Docklands Studios. I can have upwards of 10 technicians operating this equipment on various films, T.V and commercial projects throughout the state at any one time. I believe, Victoria really needs this hub to complement our studios as having our businesses in one place together will bring opportunities for innovation as well as a healthy sense of community and support. I strongly believe the screen hub will be nothing but positive, and really strengthen our growing industry.
